Dear All

Chetana has entered into the second quarter of 2010-11 with lot of interest and activities. The brief view of the activities / programmes conducted gas been furnished below as:

  • 8th July 2010 MOTHERS’ DAY: Celebrations were made in the campus for the mothers with children with developmental disabilities. It has stressed the need and role of mothers in the whole process of their children training & rehabilitation. Mothers felt happy over the concern and commitment of the CF and felt for better participation.
  • 24th July 2010 – AWARENESS PROGRAMME: The activity was conducted in the selected neighbouring slum community for the parents, children with disabilities, volunteers and other community members. It includes: causes, consequences, early identification, early intervention, academics, vocational training, employment, income generation activities and other related support systems. The parents positive attitude impressed others with enhanced motivation.
  • 15th Aug. 2010 – INDEPENDENCE DAY: Celebrations were held by hoisting the National Flag in the campus and the Chief Guest stressed for working for the independent living of the persons with disabilities in general and mental retardation in particular.
  • 24th Aug. 2010 – INCOME GENERATION TRAINING PROGRAMME: Matching to the skills and needs of the persons with disabilities, conducted one day activity of painting in the campus. It includes: collection of raw material, mixing of colours, process of painting, packing, networking & linkages and ways for exhibition & marketing. This has got the acceptance of the participants and  got motivated to more such activities both at Institute and Home environment.
  • 30th Sept. 2010 – SPORTS & GAMES AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: Conducted the event in the campus for the children with disabilities. It includes: walking, running, cricket, and various cultural competitions. The winners got the appreciation and understood their own abilities in front of their parents and other family members. This is the positive way of mainstreaming.
The review was impressive and given scope for making better planning for the next quarter.
